Ears

I have a post coming...several actually, as I am way behind. But it's late and I'm super tired so just wanted to post that Little Miss A was a ROCK STAR on Friday morning when she got tubes and adenoids removed. Poor little bit has been on the brink of having this done for years and finally the ENT said (just last Monday) it was time. So I will post pics but wanted all to know that she is doing great!!! Will post some pre-op and post-op pics and updates soon! :o) Thanks for all the sweet thoughts and prayers!

Ava Art

We were playing "yoga" school (we sit on a yoga mat as we play...nope, no downward dog or anything, just sit on the mat) we were drawing on her dry erase board and she said "Ok student (she was naturally the teacher) first I draw Ava...I draw eyes, then legs, then ears (went through each sweet item before adding more), then I draw my purse (top left), then I write my name."

So cute!

Car Chat in the City

Driving to school with Little Miss has always been fun, but the last few weeks it's a bit different since Ava is adjusting to her new school. She is growing to LOVE it but the first week or so, it was more fussing and wishing she could stay with mommy (TRUST ME...I wished the same!) She was so tough and pulled through and is really doing so good now.

As I've mentioned, Ava and I live downtown we get to drive by the Capital every single day. As we wind around through the tall building's there's always something hilarious out of my child's mouth.

Here's a few from this morning:

Ava: (When spotting the Capital) "Hey Mama look!!! There's the Cafeteria!"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Few minutes later

(I was pointing out elevators on the OUTSIDE of a new VERY tall high-rise under construction and though it was so cool to watch them go up and down about 40+ stories in the air...)

Mommy: "Whoa baby! Check out those elevators! They're so far up there and they're on the outside of the buildings! I wonder what they're carrying? How cool is that? You can barely see the one's on top they're waaaay up in the sky!!!"

Ava: (Looking out her window...for about a half a second...) "Hmmm, whatever."

Really?! Wow. Ok. Mommy's "Cool-ness" I guess is fading. Dang :o( I knew it would happen sooner or later...

Everything's Bigger in Heaven

Tonight as my side kick and I enjoyed our Turkey Tacos I was asking Ava about her new school (which she is SLOWLY warming up to...more on that in another post) and trying to have her remember her MANNERS. Well, she's 3 so it's a work in progress. Constant...work.in.progress.

My child LOVE, LO.V.E.S, loves snacks. She's not really a fan these days of sitting and eating dinner. Though once she does, she enjoys it. Tonight after about 5 minutes of sitting she decided to launch a tomato across the table. For the third time. "because it was a choo-choo train" (insert VERY DEEP CALMING MOMMY BREATH)

Me: "Ava, no ma'am. You just lost 'T' until bedtime"

(I then put her FAVORITE monkey up to the counter, but in her eye sight so she could see what she was missing :o) Time-out doesn't work because she tends to want and ask for time out, thinks it's fun. Thus making me realize I need to switch up the discipline tactics.)

A few minutes pass...

INCOMING!!!!!!! Yes, a carrot flies by my head (because "it was trying to catch up to the previously mentioned train") insert me counting to 10...

Me: "Ava, you do not throw food. There are children that never get to eat carrots and tomatoes you don't throw them. That makes God so sad, he wants you to eat your food not throw it"

(Yes people, I went there. I never thought those words would come out of my mouth as a parent. When my parent's told me about the starving kids I know I rolled my eyes...)

Ava: "Oh Mommy...it's ok! God has a a REALLY BIG 'frigerator!!!"

I give. I laughed. (and I silently thought..."I bet he really does")

LIFE WITH AVA. I'M JUST TRYIN' TO KEEP UP....

No, the child didn't get ice cream after that ordeal. This was from last Friday :o)

God Bless me in 2021

From the mouth of one sassy, precious, wild, vivacious, perfect, head-strong, independent, loving, sweet angel...Ava-girl. They start off so teeny-tiny, so innocent....
Ava got yet ANOTHER double ear infection yesterday. Temperature, fussy, couldn't sleep...so sad. Kept her home from her first day at her new school to let her relax and get to feeling better. Well my friends...the child is now FEELING BETTER. She ate and ate and ate tonight, danced, sang and talked. And talked. And yes, talked a bit more. Her chatter is music to my ears and so precious yet so VERY, verrry loud (I think even more so with the infection)...here are two quotes from a few minutes ago.

SCENE 1:

Just finished bathing Miss A & was trying to brush her hair (how dare I?!)

Ava:
(Swings around, pulling away from me) "Ohhh no Mama, I'm outta here! I don't EVEN think so!" (then "swishes" her hair and walks, with much purpose, out of the room not looking back) I mean, for real. What?!

SCENE 2:

About 5 minutes later, just finished book, hugs & prayers. I head in the kitchen to clean up and hear the infamous "Maaaammmmmmaaaaa......Maaaaammmaaa....."

Me:
"Yes Ava. What is it?"

Ava: "Mommy, all this sleeping has really made me very, very hungry." (Really? In all 30 seconds?!?!)

Mommy: "Ava you had a very big dinner"

Ava: "I know, but after ALL THIS SLEEPING I am so very hungry. My belly and "T's" (her monkey) are soooo hungry"

I gave the starving child a saltine. Life is good all is now as it should be.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

God bless me in 2021 when she's about 15 years old and the demands and sassy-ness reach a whole 'nother level....Wonder if it will still be cute???
